Probably most interesting moment of the trip was lying in a darkened room for a full body massage and crazy friend in room next door announces that I wanted a ‘special’ massage to which my masseur asked sweetly ‘you want special?’ to which I politely declined. Hmm.

We visited various markets, Pratunam being probably the most boring, and Chatuchak being the most interesting. Especially when you visit the animal section and find all sorts of incredible animals. Apart from the usual but adorable golden retrievers, labs and spaniels, there were also boa constrictors, pythons, tarantulas and a couple of giant tortoises. To say the least, the store owners fitted the profile of illegal animal trader/poacher pretty well what with their shaved heads, long ponytails and tattoos. Stereotype it was, but then again, you wouldn’t want it any other way.
